Joe Alexander (born December 26, 1986) is an American professional basketball player who plays for Dinamo Sassari of the Italian Serie A. Alexander, who at 6 ft 8 in (2.03 m) and 220 lb (100 kg) plays both forward positions, was selected for the 2007 All-Big East squad during his collegiate career with West Virginia and was an All-American Honorable Mention. He was selected eighth overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He is the first-ever Taiwanese-born NBA player.
After missing time because of a hamstring injury, he was assigned to the NBA D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants on January 20, 2010
On February 18, 2010, Alexander was traded to the Chicago Bulls along with Hakim Warrick for John Salmons
On September 20, 2010, Alexander signed with the New Orleans Hornets, but he was waived on November 13, 2010.
On November 26, Alexander was signed by the NBA D-League’s Texas Legends.
In July 2011, he signed with BC Krasnye Krylya Samara of Russia
On September 27, 2013, he signed with the Golden State Warriors. In November 2014, he was reacquired by Santa Cruz. Alexander played 13 games through the 2014–15 NBA Development League season.
On December 25, 2014, he left Santa Cruz and signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv of the Israeli Premier League and the Euroleague for the rest of the season.
On August 3, 2015, he signed a one-year deal with the Italian club Dinamo Sassari.
