Maurice Harkless

Maurice José Harkless (born May 11, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the St. John’s Red Storm before being drafted 15th overall in the 2012 NBA draft. Internationally, Harkless represents and plays for the Puerto Rican national team.

On June 28, 2012, Harkless was selected with the 15th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. On August 10, 2012, he was traded to the Orlando Magic in a blockbuster trade that sent Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers and brought Andrew Bynum to the 76ers

On July 14, 2015, Harkless was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for a 2020 second round draft pick. He made his debut for the Trail Blazers in the team’s season opener against the New Orleans Pelicans on October 28, recording 8 points and 4 rebounds in a 112–94 win.
